It really disheartens me, I thought people were advancing in their views of animals..
I can’t believe what I just watched.. not that I didn’t already know it was being done..but it still blows me away.
I just watched a video of someone teaching their horse to put their hoof on a pedestal.. they were going through some lessons and then making this donking/clucking sound with their mouth before rewarding their horse.
It astounds me that anyone can actually have the view of their horse as some stupid creature who if they make up some bizarre noise then the horse might understand them enough to put his foot on a pedestal? Come on.. think about it.
Why are people making some weird and extremely odd noises to their horse to let the Horse know he’s done something correct?
To anyone who does this you’re not giving your horse any credit!
This sound is not a horse sound nor is it English or any other language accept for maybe the cluck cluck tribe in Africa I saw a documentary on years ago.
So now the horse is not only learning stupid tricks but also is learning a new language which doesn’t already exist to his knowledge.
Hmm! Interesting.. apparently horses aren’t that smart?
So Next time someone at my arena does something good I’m gonna say “hoiblediok” and see what happens. I’ll just keep saying it.
Sooo, ok I see you’re teaching your horse that a funny donking sound out of your mouth Is you giving him the “yes”. Telling him he’s right.
Why don’t you just freaking say “yes” why don’t you just say “good”.??
Person: I have this this weird tall creature with a long head .. well if I stand on one leg, tilt my head, block one nostril and wave the other arm he may understand when he’s done the right thing?
It doesn’t make any sense, who’s the smart one???
Talk to him…he will understand…
stop with the crazy sounds.
Honestly, it’s time people give their horse some credit.
It’s a bizarre thought that people are there teaching their horse to do this strange ( and to him ridiculous) stuff and the horse is learning it, going along with it, yet they’re not giving the horse any credit that he can understand the word “Good” when they tell him good.
Why why is it that people think he can understand a strange donking sound, yet they think he can’t understand the word “good” it just doesn’t make any sense.
Now to another example.. a legendary performance trainer once said a horse cannot understand the word NO .. yet that same trainer teaches his horses to stop when he says WHOA?
Oh righto! And… ? Really ? I mean??? Wth??
Horses aren’t some mechanically wired alien. They’re living,
breathing and extremely aware.
Like I keep saying it’s not rocket science.
Stop making it more difficult than it is.
Tell him “good” and if you’re consistent and if you are committed enough to stick to it he will get it in a flash.
Oh and hey… my sheep get it! Just saying. Apparently they’re stupid too.
